ANSM hosts the IncreaseNET x EU Innovation Network 2026 Innovation & Competitiveness Summit
On 15 October 2026, ANSM (the French National Agency for Medicines and Health Products Safety) hosts the IncreaseNET x EU Innovation Network 2026 Innovation & Competitiveness Summit. Close to a hundred participants are expected: representatives of national and European authorities, clinical research stakeholders, and representatives from academia, SMEs, and research funding bodies.
The event is co-organised by the IncreaseNET joint action and the EU Innovation Network (EU-IN), a joint working group of the European Medicines Agency (EMA) and the Heads of Medicines Agencies (HMA) network.
IncreaseNET is a joint action funded by the European Commission. Led by the Slovenian Agency for Medicines and Medical Devices (JAZMP), it aims to strengthen the regulatory expertise and skills needed within the European Medicines Regulatory Network (EMRN) and to better address the challenges posed by health innovation.As part of this joint action, ANSM leads a working group dedicated to innovation support, whose purpose is to harmonise innovation support practices across European agencies and to foster a more coordinated approach at network level.
Several concrete actions are being developed in this framework:
- Training courses on emerging topics (RNA technologies, organs-on-chips, etc.);
- A toolbox to help agencies set up or expand their innovation office;
- Work to make the European support offer for project leaders more visible, among others.
The 15 October meeting is an opportunity to continue discussions on the levers for strengthening Europe's attractiveness and competitiveness in the field of health innovation, notably through more accessible and better coordinated support.
Discussions will focus in particular on:
- European competitiveness and developments in the regulatory framework;
- The organisation and funding of clinical research in France;
- The coordination and complementarity of the network with national and European schemes supporting innovation in SMEs and academia;
- The range of available schemes, in particular national and European scientific advice, and the support provided by innovation offices.
