The French National Agency for Medicines and Health Products Safety (ANSM) is a public establishment under the authority of the French Ministry of Health. On behalf of the French State, it is responsible for the safety of health products and promotes access to therapeutic innovation. We act at the heart of the healthcare system to serve patients’ needs and ensure their safety, alongside healthcare professionals and in concert with their respective representatives.
We facilitate access to innovative products through authorisation procedures tailored to each stage of the medicine life cycle, before and after release to market.
Through our assessments, our expertise and our surveillance policy, we ensure that the health products available in France are safe, effective, accessible, and properly used.
Our teams are made up of 1 000 people, across three sites: Saint-Denis, Lyon, and Montpellier-Vendargues.
We rely on a network of national, European and global surveillance and expertise, in keeping with ethical and transparency principles.
